Off Grid / Remote

Living off-grid or in a remote location?

We’ve got wastewater treatment systems that can easily be installed, require little maintenance, and leave the smallest impact on the environment.

Wastewater for off Grid & Remote Application

Systems for even the most challenging sites

We are here to protect New Zealand’s shared backyard, however remote the location is.

Wherever your site might be, we can recommend a system that will meet all your requirements and will safely and effectively treat wastewater.

Easily access your site Ensure easy transportation to your site.

For remote locations or those with challenging access such as a sloping bush property, we would recommend a system made from plastic which can be more easily transported than their concrete counterparts.

Equally if it is going to be difficult to get lorries to your site to complete suck outs or servicing then we would suggest a vermifiltration system that doesn’t require any maintenance.

Minimising the impact on the landscape Protect our shared backyard

Once we have assessed the landscape, we can make recommendations as to which systems would require the fewest heavy machines and least disruption to the landscape to install.

A compact design that integrates seamlessly into the environment would work well and we would suggest a system that doesn’t have a loud pump noise, so that it isn’t contributing to noise pollution.

Things to Consider

We’ll help you choose the right option

When thinking about your off-grid or remote site wastewater treatment system, we’ll help you choose the right option, considering:

Composting Toilet The comfort of normal amenities.

For those who are looking to upgrade a composting toilet, vermifiltration means that you can still have all the comfort of normal amenities whilst also having the satisfaction that your wastewater is being processed and disposed of effectively.

Servicing Access Make it easy to maintain.

Equally if it is going to be difficult to get lorries to your site to complete suck outs or servicing then we would suggest a vermifiltration system that doesn’t require any maintenance.

Available Power Passive-power free treatments.

If you’re in an off-grid location, then we would recommend a vermifiltration system which doesn’t require any electricity. Instead, a self-sustaining ecosystem of worms and other organisms break down waste naturally, with no interference.

Protecting the Environment Minimise noise pollution.

Vermifiltration is a power-free wastewater treatment system that is also silent, making it ideal for off-grid and remote locations, where you want to protect the tranquillity of the environment.
