Soneva Jani & Soneva Fushi Biolytix System
The award-winning resort defining barefoot luxury.Hidden among dense foliage within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Soneva Fushi inspires the imagination. The award-winning resort truly defines the essence of barefoot luxury with Robinson Crusoe simplicity Soneva Fushi’s Crusoe Villas upgrade was our first undertaking which included BioPod systems to service five 2-bedroom villas, three 1-bedroom villa. Our lightweight, compact systems shipped in 40ft containers, then maneuvered into position by hand and installed to the highest standard. The disposal field we dug by hand and now deliver nutrient rich filtered wastewater throughout the natural environment.
We worked closely with the local authorities in Male to gain premission to import and use composting worms to the atoll to use in our BioPod. The atoll now has a thriving vermiculture setup to manage not only the solid waste in the BioPod, but also the compostable waste from the kitchens and vegetable gardens, resulting in a significant reduction of waste needing to be removed by sea.
Soneva Jani was our second undertaking for the Soneva Resort group. Inspired by a word that means ‘wisdom’ in Sanskrit, Soneva Jani encompasses a collection of overwater and islands villas set within a lagoon of crystal clear waters, fringed by pristine beaches and blanketed in lush tropical greenery.
The overwater villas required a MultiStage cluster system that allow waste to be pumped from the villas to our Ecopod system and then onto our BioPod systems for final treatment and disposal to irrigation. This is the same design model that we have utilise many times to service schools, eco-resorts, large Marae, and large commercial operations.
Today, there are currently 33 Biolytix systems servicing the resort facilities with another 70 systems destined for the island archipelago.
